Senior Database Designer (& Lead IT specialist)

Summary

Position: Lead Database Designer (& Lead IT specialist)
Supervisor: Reports to General Manager
Works With: n/a
Hours: Expected 40 hours per week. From Monday to Friday, (9:30) 10:00-18:30. 24/7 support of IT systems
Req. Equipment:

Main Responsibilities :

Applications development/Database Design & programming
Management of all Information Systems
Communications with other departments on IT-relevant issues

Expectations:
Develop, implement, document and enforce formalized IT standards, policies & procedure.
Support and train colleagues in IT fields, including using tools, archiving, backuping etc.
Coordinate with other business units & departments to develop practical tools, solutions and models
Take a leadership role in project management.
Proactively identify problems and issues and suggest ways to address them.
Will design, implement & maintain online applications and databases for accounting, logistics, order processing etc.
Manage all support, maintenance and IS management for desktops PC's, networks, file and web servers etc.
Test and maintain server & desktop backups systems.
Spearhead the creation, organization and ongoing management of information archives including backup logs, various documentations, manuals, training materials, software archives etc.

fluent spoken English language skills required.

Technical
Advanced skill in writing, installing and troubleshooting PHP4/5 scripts & MySQL databases, good reading ability with PHP.
Javascript
Perl Compatible Regular Expression
Well understanding with Linux & Apache.
Experience in installing and troubleshooting desktop hardware such as printers, modems, CPU’s etc
Well understanding with Photoshop,Dreamweaver,Word,Excel etc.
Recommend
Well understanding in Open Source Software
Know or has experience with php libraries like Smarty, ADODB, GD2, Gettext
AJAX and XML knowledge.
XML-RPC or SOAP
Following PEAR Coding Style, and learn other coding style quickly

RESPONSIBILITIES

Define and oversee budgets and financial structures.

Implement fiscal discipline

QUALIFICATIONS

Solid business background with a bachelor's degree or above

Preferred major in Finance/Accounting or a related field.

Strong understanding of finance.

Preferred experience in transportation, logistics and/or import/export

Prior experience working in China. and with small startups.

Must be a self-starter with strong personal motivation

Able to work independently and often with ambiguity.

Positive attitude and a team player

Spoken / written English fluency, Chinese language skills a plus.

Foreign passport holder preferred but not a requirement.
