Issues of Authenticity in Chinese Painting

Wen C. Fong is professor emeritus of Chinese art history at Princeton University, where he taught from 1954 to 1999, established the country's first PhD program in Chinese and Japanese art and archaeology, and served for many years as faculty curator of Asian art at the Princeton University Art Museum. He also served as consultative chairman of the Department of Asian Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for three decades before retiring in 2000. His many books include "Images of the Mind", "Beyond Representation", and "Possessing the Past".

James Cahill is Professor of the History of Art at the University of California, Berkeley.

Harrist is associate professor of art and archarology at Columbia University in New York City.

Maxwell K. Hearn is Douglas Dillon Curator and Shiyee Liu is Research Associate, both in the Department of Asian Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Wen C. Fong is Professor Emeritus, Princeton University, and Curator Emeritus, Asian Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Chin-Sung Chang is Assistant Professor of Archaeology and Art History, Seoul National University.

Stephen Little, Pritzker Curator of Asian Art at the Art Institute of Chicago, is an authority on Chinese and Japanese art. His numerous publications include "Spirit Stones of China" (California, 1999), "Visions of the Dharma: Japanese Buddhist Paintings and Prints in the Honolulu Academy of Arts"(1991), and "Chinese Ceramics of the Transitional Period,1620-1683" (1983).
