Description
This jar has a deep ebony sheen which does not present accurately in photos. Its material is heavy and dense which allows for fine detailing and exquisite elegant form. In fact, such elegance is not surprising considering this design derives its form from simplistic yet perfectly balanced lacquerware containers of the Song & Yuan dynasties. The dense heavy hardwood makes these jars the ideal environment in which to store tea. Carved from solid pieces of wood.
Early 20th century.
