Description

Three-layer vermillion-lacquered lunch box with pewter sake flask. This was probably originally one of a set of two which eventually became separated. The Second Shō dynasty was the final dynasty of the Ryukyu Kingdom (1469 to 1879). It was ruled by the Second Shō family hence the name.
